Monday
Scripture: “There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.” John 1:6-8
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You for the apostle John and his example of witnessing to the light. Lead me in strength and courage to be a witness to the light for others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Tuesday
Scripture: "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Prayer: Father, today and everyday, I choose to follow and serve You. You have been so good to me. Thank You for your grace and mercy that follows me the rest of my days. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Wednesday
Scripture: "Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Mark 5:36
Prayer: Lord, because of Your great love – I know how much I mean to You. When I am afraid, I will believe that You will always have my best interest at heart. Thank You for protecting me and my family. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Thursday
Scripture: “But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:5-6
Prayer: Heavenly Father, every day, I long to live more like Jesus. I know Your Word is true. Even when it's hard, I will try my best to obey and keep Your commandments. Thank You for catching me when I fall. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Friday
Scripture: "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:25
Prayer: Lord, please give me the strength to forgive those who have wronged me. I do not wish to hold anything against anyone. Thank You for the Spirit who helps me produce good fruit. Thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Saturday
Scripture: “In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,” 1 John 5:3
Prayer: Father, Your commands are not burdensome to me, for they help me to be a better person. Thank You for caring about the small details of my life. I long to draw closer to You each moment. In Jesus' Name, Amen,
Sunday
Scripture: “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews 10:36
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the ability to persevere in Jesus' name. I cannot muster up the courage, nor the strength to keep going every day on my own. It is only by You and Your mercy that I continue forward in Your will. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
